Healing Cap

A healing cap (healing abutment) is a temporary cover placed on top of the implant during the healing phase. It protects the implant from food and bacteria while shaping the gum tissue for the future crown. It is usually placed after implant surgery and removed once the final abutment and crown are ready. Healing caps guide gum contouring for a natural look. They are not used in every case, but are common when gum shaping is required.
